Sponsor a Family Holiday Program

We are pleased to annouce that all families have been sponsored for 2011! For those still wishing to support our clients during the holidays please consider Shop for the Shelter!

Our Sponsor a Family program allows a donor to be assigned to shop for holiday gifts for a family or individual who is a client at SafePlace. Sponsors are matched with families living in our transitional housing or families we serve that live out in the community. Each family includes at least one SafePlace client. They may be women, men or children who are victims of sexual or domestic abuse. Due to our strict privacy and confidentiality policies, you will not meet the family you are sponsoring, but please be assured that our In-Kind Coordinator personally hands them their gifts after you’ve delivered them to us.

How do I participate in this program?
All families have been sponsored for 2011!
When will you give me the information to get started?
We assign families Monday through Friday and work hard to match you with a family as soon as possible. If you have questions before that time, please email Adolfo Moreno.
When do I bring the gifts to you?
We will receive your gifts at the SafePlace Resource Center Community Room December 7^th-9^th (11:30am - 2pm and 4pm - 8pm), December 10^th (10am-2pm) and December 12^th(11:30am - 2pm and 4pm - 8pm). It is important that the items for this program come to our Resource Center Community Room and are NOT taken to our donations warehouse.
How do I get to your facility, and is there anything else I need to know?
You will receive a link to our map of our location when you receive the details on your family.
If I collect money from people to purchase items, do they receive a tax write off?
