Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)

Where do you stand? Courageous Bystander Pledge Campaign


I make this pledge to honor the individuals in my life and my community.

  • Because I know domestic violence will impact the lives of those I love and the lives of others; and,
  • Because I know reducing the number of victims requires broad social change; and,
  • Because I know I am a part of establishing what is acceptable in our community; and,
  • Because I know others will observe my choices and follow my lead.

I Pledge To:

  • Find a safe and effective way to intervene in any situation that feels disrespectful or unsafe.
  • Embrace values of safety and respect in my relationship.
  • Change anything I may be doing that contributes to devaluing any person.
  • Support and encourage men and women in my life to take responsibility for ending domestic violence.
  • Believe and support women, children and men who have experienced domestic violence.
