Clerical Volunteer
Help SafePlace programs with copying, mailing, filing, organizing, updating databases and other office projects.
Qualifications: 18 and older
Training: 40 hour training not required, training as needed
Supervisor: Program staff
Timeframe: Weekday, daytime hours only. Varies according to need
Grove Place Community Services Program
The Grove Place Community Services Program offers Grove Place Apartments residents support with limited financial assistance, information and referral services and self-sufficiency support through programs such as life skills classes in a group setting as well as individual support.
Grove Place Meal Preparation
Deliver a hot evening meal for clients attending class.
Responsibilities: Meals for approximately 10-15 people need to be dropped off at Grove Place. Volunteer is responsible for covering the cost of the meal. This is an excellent opportunity for volunteer groups.
Additional Training:40 hour training not required
Program/Supervisor: Grove Place Community Services Coordinator
Location: Grove Place
Time Commitment: Days/times as needed. Flexibility around availability of volunteer; this position is available ongoing. Minimum commitment is 1 meal.
Library Volunteer
Volunteers needed to help with filing, organizing, and updating database of articles pertaining to the lending library.
Responsibilities: Assist with cataloguing and shelving of new library materials.
Qualifications: 18 and older
Additional Training: 40 hour training not required, training as needed.
Program/Supervisor: Staff Librarian/Administrative Assistant
Location: SafePlace Resource Center
Time Commitment: Weekday, daytime hours only between 10-6. Initially 2-3 hours on a bi-weekly schedule. Once system is established may require 2-3 hours monthly.
Life Skills Program Volunteers
The Life Skills program is designed to help clients in the Supportive Housing Program (SHP) develop the skills and resources necessary to achieve greater self-sufficiency and family stability.
LifeSkills Meal Prep
Meal preparation and/or delivery on Mondays and/or Wednesdays.
Responsibilities: Meals to be prepared on site or delivered by 5:30 p.m. for approximately 25 adults and children.

Additional Training: 40 hour training not required
Program/Supervisor: Transitional Services Program’s Life Skills Coordinator
Location: Meals to be delivered to SafePlace Resource Center.
Time Commitment: Can be a one time opportunity or ongoing.
